Ideals and reality

We can say that Norwegian society has some important characteristics: democracy, a good welfare system and a high standard of living. That does not mean that there are no problems.

Many people have difficulty making ends meet, and more and more children in Norway experience poverty – at the same time as the richest people have become even richer in recent years. Fewer people vote in elections. Many people, and not least immigrants, feel that they are not included in society. Norway has its fair share of challenges that need to be dealt with and problems that need to be solved.
