Notification of sale – notification of change of ownership in connection with buying a car, which must be submitted to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. The notification of sale must be submitted three days after the change of ownership at the latest. The previous owner is responsible for submitting the notification of sale. Both parties, i.e. the previous and the new owner, and any co-owners, must sign the same notification of sale.
Vehicle registration certificate – a document containing information about the vehicle and its owner. Part 1 (technical part) contains the same information as part 2, but it also contains some technical information about the vehicle. This part is to be kept in the vehicle when it is being driven. Part 2 (owner’s part) mainly contains information relating to the vehicle’s and the owner’s identity. In addition, this part includes the notification of change of ownership (notification of sale). This part should be kept separately from the vehicle.
Annual Motor Vehicle Tax – a tax that must be paid on all vehicles liable to tax and registered at the turn of the year. The person who, at the turn of the year, is registered as the owner of the vehicle is responsible for paying the tax for the following year.
Debt settlement arrangement – the purpose of a debt settlement arrangement is to give people with serious debt problems an opportunity to regain control of their finances. For example, a debt settlement can mean that the debtor is given an extension on the repayment of the entire amount or part of the amount, that the creditor waives interest or charges (in whole or in part), or that the debt is cancelled in whole or in part.
