The Directorate for Nature Management

The Directorate for Nature Management is one of five environmental agencies under the authority of the Ministry of the Environment. The directorate is responsible for nature management in Norway. The Directorate for Nature Management is an advisory and executive body for the conservation of biological diversity, establishing and managing conservation areas, outdoor pursuits and the sustainable use of natural resources. The directorate works to protect biological diversity, to ensure long-term planning and protect land areas, lakes and other natural resources.
