Old-age pension

To be entitled to an old-age pension from the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme, you must be 67 years of age. In addition, you must have lived in Norway for at least three years after the age of 16 and still be a member of the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme. If you have worked in another EEA country, an exception may be made from the condition regarding a minimum residence period. If you move to another EEA country, you keep your old-age pension from the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme.

You must earn pension rights for 40 years to be entitled to a full pension from Norway.
