Residence permit in Norway
You need a residence permit if you come from a country outside the EU/EEA and are going to work in Norway or stay here for more than three months. The residence permit lasts for a limited period of time and can usually be renewed. If you have stayed in Norway for a long enough period and meet other conditions, you can get a permanent residence permit.
